This strikes me simply as the media version of an automated support ticket response: something goes wrong with a client’s server somewhere, and I write a thoughtful and technically detailed email explaining the problem. Someone on the other end spends 2.5 seconds scanning the first line of my email and goes “Ah! This must require AUTOMATORESPONSE #9.”

If Rod McKenzie was even in the same building when this response was sent, I will purchase and hat and then eat it.

I don’t even mind that it’s a form response. But a form response to a question I didn’t even ask? Annoying. I’ll be doing whatever the next stage in the complaints process is, when I work out what that is.

Very disappointing. Did it come with a post-it note still attached saying “Note to PA: send standard BNP complaint reply”?
